Product Overview

Deburr Wheels

Convolute Non-Woven Deburr wheels use abrasive grains in a wrapped construction around the wheel’s core. These abrasive grains remove material from a workpiece, dependent on the size of the grains, and their material. These wheels are used for deburring workpieces, and improving the final finish of the product.

Material:

  • Silicon Carbide for applications with nonferrous metals and low pressure.
  • Aluminum Oxide for general-purpose applications with ferrous alloys or high-tensile materials.

Grade determines the final finish of the product.

  • Fine (FIN) grade abrasive wheels are used on small contact areas, and don’t remove much material, to prevent undercutting. They are good for when the final finish is critical. 180-240 Grit.
  • Medium (MED) grade abrasive wheels will remove more material, with a larger contact area. 100-150 Grit.

Density refers to how tight the construction of the wheel’s wrapping is. The lower the density, the more the wheel will conform to the workpiece, and leave a more uniform finish. Higher density wheels will last longer, and are for tougher blending and deburring jobs.

  • 8 – softer, conformable, for finishing and light deburring.
  • 9 – harder, for light to medium deburring.

NOTE: Wheels are unidirectional; only use in the indicated direction. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM OPERATING SPEED OF THE TOOL [RPMX]!

Warning: The user may experience the following health effects. Wear appropriate PPE to help prevent these effects.

Inhalation: Dust from grinding, sanding or machining may cause irritation of the respiratory system. Signs/symptoms may include coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, headache, and nose and throat pain.

Skin Contact: Mechanical Skin irritation: Signs/symptoms may include abrasion, redness, pain, and itching.

Eye Contact: Mechanical eye irritation: Signs/symptoms may include pain, redness, tearing and corneal abrasion. Dust created by grinding, sanding, or machining may cause eye irritation. Signs/symptoms may include redness, swelling, pain, tearing, and blurred or hazy vision.
