Haas Universal 3D Sensor, by Haimer

Finding edges, corners, and hole centers has never been easier than with the Haas Universal 3D Sensor, by Haimer. This 3-dimensional edge finder allows you to locate and tram-in surfaces quickly, easily, and more accurately – on the first attempt. No more touch-and-feel with a piece of paper or a spinning edge finder. No more adding or subtracting half the diameter of the probe tip. Simply zero the sensor on the part and then zero the machine. Zero on the sensor = zero on the part! And, because you don’t have to run the spindle, like you do with a traditional edge-finder, you can use the Haas Universal 3D Sensor with the machine doors open.
And don’t worry about over-traveling while touching off. The sensor has a large travel range, and the ceramic probe tip is designed to fracture if over-traveled, to avoid damaging the sensor itself. Simply unscrew and replace the broken probe tip and you’re back on the job. No tools necessary.
