Grooving Tools – Guidelines:
Haas Grooving Tools can be used for grooving, parting-off, facing, as well as general turning operations. These versatile tools use allow the machinist to use a single tool for many applications, reducing the number of tools in the turret, and the number of necessary tool changes.
The carbide inserts are reversible, with two cutting edges for more economical machining. The flat geometry of the cutting edge and wiper function of the insert ensure excellent surface finishes, even at high feedrates.
Advantages:
- Suitable for grooving, facing, face grooving, parting-off, and general turning
- Strong clamping system ensures stable and accurate machining
- A single tool can be used for multiple applications
- Replaceable carbide inserts for economical machining
- Available for external (OD) and internal (ID) applications
Selecting the Correct Grooving Tool/Insert:
Haas Grooving Tools are defined by the following requirements:
- Lathe turret/tooling size
- External (OD) or internal (ID) machining
- Required cutting depth (T-max)
- Insert cutting width
- Insert style
Insert Features:
- All inserts are made from high-quality cemented carbide and are TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) PVD coated for high wear resistance and lower friction, as well as higher cutting feeds and speeds
- HU30 and HUU20P grades for Steel, Stainless, and Cast Iron with the option to use on Aluminum and Non-Ferrous Alloys
