Product Overview

Protective Barriers

Protective barriers are devices used in industrial and manufacturing settings to ensure the safety of personnel in areas where there is a risk of injury from moving machinery or equipment. Each protective barrier is designed to stop robotic motion when it detects:

  • People
  • Objects
  • Obstacles

Protective barriers enhance workplace safety by:

  • Preventing collisions
  • Controlling access to hazardous zones
  • Allowing autonomy in the workplace

The implementation of protective barriers is instrumental in ensuring the reliability and dependability of safety measures designed to protect workers.

4-Piece, Light Curtain Kit Overview

The 08-1899 light curtain kit is a type of protective barrier that consists of four parts:

  • Emitter
  • Receiver
  • 2 – Reflective Mirrors

The emitter sends out parallel beams of light to create a virtual protective barrier that is detected by the receiver. These protective barriers act as obstacle-detection systems, instantly detecting intrusions or obstructions in the safety area zone. When an object or person breaks the light beam, a signal is sent to stop the robotic arm’s operation, preventing potential collisions or accidents.

Benefits of Light Curtains:

  • Affordable option for protective barriers
  • Easy to install and set up
  • Configurable safety area zone up to three protective sides

6-Piece, Light Curtain Kit Overview

The 08-1948 light curtain kit is a type of protective barrier that consists of six parts:

  • Emitter
  • Receiver
  • 4 – Reflective Mirrors

The emitter sends out parallel beams of light to create a virtual protective barrier that is detected by the receiver. These protective barriers act as obstacle-detection systems, instantly detecting intrusions or obstructions in the safety area zone. When an object or person breaks the light beam, a signal is sent to stop the robotic arm’s operation, preventing potential collisions or accidents.

Benefits of Light Curtains:

  • Affordable option for protective barriers
  • Easy to install and set up
  • Configurable safety area zone up to five protective sides
  • Compatible with Compact Automatic Parts Loader (C-APL)

Area Scanner Overview

Area scanners are compact, high-tech protective barriers that use infrared laser beams to scan their surroundings in a two-dimensional plane.

Benefits of Area Scanners:

  • Compact ,while providing large area coverage
  • Configurable scanning areas
  • Multiple sampling to set number of times an object must be scanned before reacting
  • Multiple object resolutions to detect different sized intrusions
