Spade Drill Bodies and Inserts
Spade drills feature a tool steel body with through-tool coolant and inserts that are secured to the tool body using screws. The straight shank diameter with a flat allows easy mounting in mill or lathe tool holders.

Insert Chip Breaker, Grade and Coating
Chip breakers and Insert grades are combined based on your selected workpiece material.
- ST chip breaker with CS carbide grade for all steels,
- Cl chip breaker with C3 carbide grade specifically for cast iron
- SS chip breaker primarily for stainless steel. Due to the 'general purpose' C2 carbide grade makes this insert also suitable for cast iron, nonferrous and high temp alloys

Insert Coating
Insert Coating AlCrN
All spade drill inserts are coated with Aluminum Chromium Nitride (AICrN) to provide a thin sturdy layer that is resistant to high temps that occur when drilling. AICrN also provides excellent wear resistance and reduces chipping and breaking.
Insert Coating Hardslick
Multi-layer coating with TiAIN/WC/C structure. Providing excellent wear resistance while also offering goof lubricity properties.
Insert Coating TiAIN
High-performance coating which offer heat resistance, iproves tool life. Excellent for general purpose machining.
