HAAS VERIFICATION
Your new Haas HMM430 Coordinate Measuring Machine will be delivered directly to your shop (or designated address) in a secure shipping crate. The customer is responsible for contacting and scheduling installation with their local Haas Factory Outlet (HFO). Installation must be performed by the HFO to maintain 12-month parts warranty from ship date; installation by any other party will void warranty. HFO installation ensures proper configuration and system performance. Installation and travel charges will apply.
Each Haas HMM430 is tested and verified to ensure it meets all accuracy and performance specifications published in the Technical Specifications section.
Upon installation, your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) technician will perform a verification procedure to confirm that the machine operates within specifications. This verification confirms that the HMM430 functions correctly and meets the stated performance levels.
Haas does not provide certified calibration services for the HMM430. Verification ensures compliance with published specifications but does not include traceable calibration or certification.
If the customer requires traceable calibration or industry-specific certification (such as ISO or NIST traceability), it is the customer’s responsibility to contact an accredited third-party calibration provider. These providers can perform full calibration, make compensation adjustments if necessary, and issue traceable calibration certificates with “as-found” and “as-left” data.
NOTE:
- Verification (Performed by HFO) – Confirms the HMM430 meets product technical specifications and is required to maintain the 12-month parts warranty from ship date.
- Calibration (Third-Party, NOT PERFORMED by Haas/HFO) – Provides traceable certification to meet specific industry or regulatory requirements.

Touch DMIS
TouchDMIS is a dimensional metrology software engineered to simplify and optimize the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection process. Featuring an intuitive interface and a streamlined workflow that enhances productivity while reducing complexity in measurement tasks.

Touch-Screen Capabilities:
Although the HMM430 is supplied with a stadard non-touch monitors, TouchDMIS is fully compatible with touchscreen monitors, providing a touch-enabled interface that supports large icons and intuitive gestures such as swipe and pinch-to-zoom. Users can easily navigate features, create measurement programs, capture data, and generate reports—all through simple touch interactions.
CAD-Based Environment:
Create and edit measurement programs with the intuitive CAD-based environment. Modify points and scanning paths with real-time updates and clear graphical feedback. All changes can be simulated offline before execution, ensuring accuracy and minimizing errors. Instantly review results in both graphical and text formats, giving the operator complete control in every measurement.
CAD Module:
TouchDMIS supports a range of native and neutral CAD formats, including STEP and IGES. This allows users to import complex 3D models directly into the software for model-based inspection programming.
Geometric Entity Measurement:
TouchDMIS enables the precise measurement of a broad array of geometric entities, including tapers, slots, angled features, internal and external bosses, curves, surfaces, and much more. With high accuracy, users can measure complex geometries directly from imported 3D CAD models, ensuring detailed and reliable inspection.
Auto-Generated Measuring Path:
TouchDMIS streamlines CMM inspections by generating automatic measuring paths, which calculate the most efficient inspection sequence based on part geometry, feature types, and accessibility. This process reduces programming time, minimizes operator input, and enhances performance, repeatability, and traceability, while also lowering cycle time and minimizing potential errors.
DMIS Programming Language:
In addition to standard and touch-based programming, TouchDMIS enables operators to create and edit programs using the native DMIS language. The software also supports advanced DMIS commands, variables, and macros. With offline programming and simulation capabilities, TouchDMIS ensures thorough program validation before execution.
Touch Probe Manager:
TouchDMIS features an intuitive, user-friendly Touch Probe Manager that enables quick and easy probe configuration and calibration.
GD&T and Reporting:
TouchDMIS delivers comprehensive GD&T support across all major control types—including Form, Orientation, Profile, Location, and Runout, which are fully compliant with ANSI and ISO standards. It automatically evaluates tolerances and displays real-time, color-coded results directly on the 3D model for fast, intuitive analysis. The reporting tools enable fully customizable reports, live results tracking, and exporting options.
Self-training and certification program:
TouchDMIS offers a self-training program that helps operators learn quickly and efficiently how to use the software. At the end of the program, users can be officially certified as TouchDMIS Operators.
NOTES:
1. The HMM430 includes a perpetual license for the TouchDMIS software, ensuring permanent access without expiration or renewal fees.
2. The HMM430 comes equipped with a standard non-touchscreen monitor; however, customers who wish to utilize the capabilities of TouchDMIS on a touchscreen monitor may add their own - no extra configuration or software required.
TouchDMIS Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA)
The HMM430 includes one (1) complimentary year of the TouchDMIS Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA), which provides access to the official TouchDMIS Certification Program modules.
To activate the SMA, customers must complete and submit the Customer Registration Form to Haas Automation, Inc. This form collects essential contact, software license, and machine information required to ensure full customer support. The registration form can be found in the Software Documents section under the Overview tab on the relevant product page.
The Software Maintenance Agreement entitles the customer to:
- Software updates - released throughout the year
- Access to the CIM Solutions Academy - includes continued access to the TouchDMIS Certification Program modules beyond the initial free year
SMA Terms and Renewal
- The SMA is an annual agreement and must be renewed yearly to remain active.
- Renewal payments are made directly to Haas Automation, Inc. For current pricing details, customers are advised to contact their local Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) or Haas Automation, Inc.
- Customers are not obligated to renew the SMA after the first year; however, Haas strongly recommends renewal to ensure continued access to software updates and the TouchDMIS online training curriculum.
- TouchDMIS software licenses are permanent but must be reactivated yearly at no cost. Customers should contact their local Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) to renew their TouchDMIS software license.
Please Note: The SMA is not required to use the TouchDMIS software. The software license included with the machine remains fully functional regardless of SMA status. If the customer chooses to renew the Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) after a lapse of one or more years, an additional fee will apply to account for the cumulative software updates released during the non-renewal period.
TouchDMIS Self-Training Certification Program:
The TouchDMIS Certification Program is a self-paced online training course offered through the official TouchDMIS Academy platform. Designed for both new and experienced users, it provides structured lessons covering key areas such as probe setup, coordinate system alignment, CAD integration, GD&T application, automated reporting, and much more. Learners can progress at their own pace while gaining practical skills and earning a recognized certification in CMM programming and inspection with TouchDMIS.
Course Breakdown:
- Chapter 1: Exploring TouchDMIS Interface
- In this chapter, participants are introduced to the TouchDMIS scene environment, including its core functions, interface controls, mouse navigation, and touch gestures. This foundational module helps users become familiar with interacting efficiently in both traditional and touchscreen workflows.
- Chapter 2: Probe Management
- Chapter 2 covers the management of calibration objects and probe assemblies, including their proper calibration procedures. Participants will learn how to effectively organize and calibrate these essential components to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Chapter 3: Creating your first Measurement Program:
- In Chapter 3, participants will learn how to create a measurement program, starting with importing the CAD model, performing an alignment, and then measuring the specified features.
- Chapter 4: Understanding Coordinates:
- In Chapter 4, users will deepen their understanding of coordinate systems, vectors, angles, and their practical applications within TouchDMIS.
- Chapter 5: Datum Structure and Alignments:
- In Chapter 5, users will learn that understanding datum structures, and their relationship to the six degrees of freedom, is key to ensuring accurate and legitimate part inspections. Users will also explore different methods for aligning parts. Numerous examples are provided to illustrate these concepts.
- Chapter 6: Understanding DMIS Codes
- In Chapter 6, users will better understand how to edit and manage programs within TouchDMIS using DMIS code. The DMIS (Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard) is a standardized language used in metrology to program and communicate measurement instructions for coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
- Chapter 7: Creating a CNC Program with no CAD
- In Chapter 7, users will develop the skills needed to create a CNC measurement program without relying on a CAD model.
- Chapter 8: Construction
- In Chapter 8, users explore the construction of part features and slices to support efficient planning of measurement paths for curved geometries.
- Chapter 9: Applying GD&T Callouts
- In Chapter 9, users will gain an in-depth understanding of GD&T tolerances, such as form, orientation, location, and runout controls. Users will also learn how to apply these callouts effectively within their inspection programs.

- Chapter 11: Offline Programming
- In Chapter 11, users are introduced to methods for creating measurement programs offline, eliminating the need for constant access to a physical CMM. The lesson covers CAD model positioning and setup techniques essential for efficient offline programming and early validation of inspection routines.
- Chapter 12: 5 Axis Measurement
- In Chapter 12, users are exposed to the capabilities of 5-axis measurement using the Renishaw PH20 probe head. The lesson explains how to effectively apply 5-axis technology within TouchDMIS to achieve faster and precise inspection.
- Chapter 13: Analog Scanning Measurement
