Haas Mill Table Washdown Tool

Product Specialist Darien Roberts introduces the Haas Mill Table Washdown Tool that provides a new way of quickly washing away piles of chips from the machine table. Whether you need to clear off a vise before unloading your part or clear an entire pallet before a pallet change, this Washdown Tool will make quick work of it.

Mill Table Washdown Tools & VPS Templates

Haas Mill Table Washdown Tools are the perfect complementary tools for all CNC machines, big and small, for short runs or production. They are engineered to provide the best results possible, when it comes to removing machined material chips and other debris from your workpiece or fixture. The tools have a steel cylindrical shank that can be mounted into your end mill holder.

Once your Mill Table Washdown Tool is installed into your toolholder and mounted in the machine spindle, use your machine control to do the cleaning unattended between machining cycles – eliminating chip accumulation, without compromising labor and machine time.

  • High-quality steel cylindrical shank with Weldon flat, for use in an end mill toolholder
  • Use through-tool coolant to wash parts before using the wash-off tools

HOW TO OPERATE – CAUTION! NEVER EXCEED THE RATED OPERATING SPEED!

For safe operation, always operate the parts wash-off tools within the stated rpm ranges, and only use in fully enclosed machines, with all guarding in place.

  1. Mount the Mill Table Washdown Tool in a toolholder rated for the operating rpm, and set a tool length offset as you would for any other cutting tool.
  2. Program the Washdown Tool as you would a face mill cutting tool.
  3. We recommend using through-spindle coolant to pre-clean large piles of heavy chips or clear small swarf from tapped holes. To simplify programming, we’ve added a VPS template (Table Wash Cycle) in the Haas control.*
DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM OPERATING SPEED! Recommended speed: 100 rpm.
  4. Always use safe machining practices to avoid premature failure of the parts wash-off tools.

CAUTION: Do not exceed the maximum rated rpm, or run for extended periods at max rpm. Always start the parts wash-off tool at 50 rpm, and ramp up to operating speed.

* If your machine’s control does not have the template built in, you can download the template below. Install the template into the My VPS folder, and access it via the VPS CUSTOM folder. (VPS Template compatible with NGC control only.)
